On October 7th-9th, the newly elected Managing Council of FEPSAC gathered in Brussels for its first physical meeting, hosted by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
In the afternoon of Wednesday 7th, a joint VUB-FESPAC symposium took place, chaired by the local host Jolan Kegelaers (FEPSAC treasurer). Yago Ramis, the new president, provided an overview of FEPSAC’s aims and structure. Then, the Belgian sport psychology landscape was portrayed by Els Snauwaert, Paul Wylleman and Jens Van Lier. FEPSAC’s activities supporting researchers were presented by Anastasiya Khomutova and Franziska Lautenbach, while those supporting applied practitioners were illustrated by Alexis Ruffault. The symposium ended with a panel discussion involving two other local representatives, i.e., Katrien Fransen and Gert-Jan De Muynck.
Thursday 8th was entirely dedicated to meetings and discussions concerning FEPSAC’s activities, under the coordination of the Secretary General Michala Bednarikova, with contributions also from the new members Recep Görgülü, Malgorzata Slawinska and Fabrizio Sors. Some more issues were addressed in the morning of Friday 9th; then, MC members left Brussels with tasks to take care of, and at the same time with good perspectives about how to help FEPSAC grow and evolve.
