We are glad to present you our first keynote speaker for the next FEPSAC Congress 2022 in Padova (Italy): Dr. Kensa Gunter

The current president of AASP, Dr. Kensa Gunter, is a licensed psychologist and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC). She provides mental health and mental performance services to individual athletes, serves as the team clinician for various professional sport organizations, and provides consultation services for different sport leagues.

Dr. Gunter is committed to elevating conversations about mental health and performance. She is also passionate about decreasing the stigma associated with mental health, particularly for those in high performance & African-American communities. Dr. Gunter is currently the AASP President and at the 2018 APA Convention, she served as Division 47’s invited speaker for the Steven R. Heyman Memorial Keynote Lecture which is focused on diversity in sport. Dr. Gunter is listed on the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Sport Psychology Registry and is a member of the USOPC External Mental Health Taskforce.

Dr. Gunter values cultural diversity and respects the dignity and worth of all people. Knowing that culture impacts perception and experience, in her work, she acknowledges the importance of individual cultural identities as well as the cultural context(s) in which a person performs and lives. Additionally, when working with individuals and teams, Dr. Gunter strives to create an atmosphere characterized by authenticity, trust, and respect.
