Beyond performance: Developing a Digital Support tool for Dual Career Biathletes

Thursday 14th May 2026

10:45 CET

Young biathletes face the challenge of balancing high-performance sport with education, often without structured, accessible support. The DC4Biathletes project (supported by Erasmus+ grant) aims to address this gap through the development of a digital, athlete-centred support tool.

The project is grounded in mixed-methods research, including surveys, focus groups with biathletes in development camps and interviews with coaches and performance directors. These insights, combined with existing literature, informed the design of an e-learning mobile platform targeting key areas such as wellbeing, time management, and identity balance.

This presentation outlines the research process and demonstrates how athlete and coach perspectives have been translated into practical, digital support for dual career development.
