Passing of Prof. Aidan Moran

We are sad to report the passing of our good colleague Prof. Aidan Moran from the University College Dublin. Aidan Moran was the director of the Psychology Research Laboratory and Full Professor of Cognitive Psychology. In 2004, he received the Psychological Society of Ireland’s “Special Merit Award” for his research in cognitive and sport psychology. In 2006, he was appointed inaugural Editor-in-Chief of the “International Review of Sport and Exercise Psychology” (IRSEP, published by Taylor and Francis, Oxford). Prof Moran was awarded a UCD President’s Research Fellowship (2008-2009) to collaborate with researchers in Imperial College, London, and Harvard University.

Aidan Moran was a great thinker and as the founder of IRSEP provided an unseen impact to our field for theoretical and critical thinking we will be forever thankful. FEPSAC and the field of sport psychology looses a great researcher. Our deepest condolences to family and colleagues.

He will be deeply missed.
